EXPLODING ATOMS |
||||||
Described by Computer and Video Games magazine as a marvellous strategy game for two players. It is very difficult to predict winning strategies as an overload of atoms sets off a chain reaction of explosions. Miscalculations are fatal. The action takes place on a 6 by 6 grid of squares where both players place counters. You are not allowed to place your counter on a square last owned by your opponent. The game is about overloading squares, corner squares overload with 2 atoms, edge squares with three, and centre squares with four. When an overloaded square explodes it sends one atom into each square around it. If this causes an adjacent square to overload then that too will explode and in this way a chain reaction can begin. If your atoms explode into a square containing your opponents atoms then that square is turned to your ownership. You win when all the atoms on the screen are yours.
