1. Overview
This directory/disk contains the ELSA Display Driver for
the SPIRIT CAD application, running on Windows 95/98 and
Windows NT 4.0.
This file contains the newest information about the current
driver release.

2. Installation
Please start program SETUP.EXE on the installation disk
and follow the instructions of the program.
The SETUP automatically checks the SPIRIT installations on
your computer and installs the driver into the SPIRIT
directory. If SPIRIT is not installed SETUP aborts driver
installation.
SETUP gets default directory from system registry key.
SETUP changes some entries within SPIRIT configuration files
which are
- file DCAD.CFG in <d:>\ST<n>\SPIRIT

DEVICE2ARG=PARAMETER

- file CRT<n>.LOG in <d:>\ST<n>\SPIRIT\DRIVER
adds an entry for the ELSA SPIRIT Display List Driver to
get it run with SPIRITs CONFIG<n>.EXE configuration setting
program.
The driver DLLs will be copied to the SPIRIT directory.
To uninstall the driver choose "Start\Settings\Control Panel".
Double click on "Add/Remove Programs" icon. Select the
"ELSA SPIRIT Driver" entry and click on "Add/Remove" button.
This will call the uninstall program which removes all driver
files and registry settings from your system. Don't forget to
call the SPIRIT configuration program "CONFIG<n>.EXE" for
selecting one of SPIRITs standard display drivers.

3. Remarks / supported graphics boards
The following ELSA graphics boards are supported by the
ELSA SPIRIT 9 Display List Driver:
ELSA GLoria Synergy (currently no multiple screens with NT 4)
ELSA Synergy II
ELSA GLoria II
ELSA Synergy III
ELSA GLoria III
Multiple screens are supported with Windows 98, NT 4.0 and
Windows 2000, NOT Windows 95. An ELSA Windows GUI driver,
which supports multiple screens, is also needed.
With Windows NT 4.0 the GUI driver must support the new
POWERlib interface to run with multiple screens.

- The ELSA SPIRIT 9 driver now supports multiple screens
with following operating systems: Windows 98, Windows NT 4.0
and Windows 2000 (if the used graphics board has any
ELSA Windows GUI driver supporting multiple screens too).
With Windows NT 4.0 the GUI driver must support the new
POWERlib interface to run with multiple screens.

5. Known Problems
Please reinstall the ELSA SPIRIT driver after updating or
reinstalling SPIRIT because this may overwrite current DCAD.CFG
and CRT<n>.LOG files.
