Installation instructions ------------------------- NOTES: - ThinkPad Software Installer provides install/uninstall wizard for this package. - Under Windows 95, Internet Explorer version 4 or higher must be installed. 1. Start Windows 95/98/Me/2000/XP. For Windows 2000/XP, logon with a User ID of Administrator. 2. Extract this package onto the hard drive. 3. Click Start and then click Run. 4. Type [Program Path]\SETUP, and click OK. Program Path is the full path name where you extracted the package in the step 2, and click OK. 5. Follow the instructions on the screen. NOTES: *1 The default installation path and folder were changed from Version A-1.14. If you already installed the previous version, uninstall it first or change the installation path and folder to the same as before. *2 If you already installed A-1.14, please uninstall it first before you install newer version. *3 If you over install Version A-1.17 or later on HDD Version A-1.16a or former was installed to, please install On Screen Display package also. From Version A-1.17, Utility does not install On Screen Display package. Another installation program is supported for On Screen Display. *4 If you install newer version after uninstalling previous version on Windows 2000/XP, reboot the system after uninstallation. Silent Installation Guide (for Unattended Installation support) --------------------------------------------------------------- NOTE: This is for system administrators' use only. When you type [Program Path]\SETUP in the above installation guide, add "-S -SMS" parameter to SETUP. (You need to type "[Program Path]\SETUP -S -SMS" in "Run...". ) Determining which version is installed -------------------------------------- For the different Wizards, to display the version information on the first screen of the Configuration Utility: 1. Start the ThinkPad Configuration program. The main screen will be displayed. 2. Click Help, then click About. The About dialog window will be displayed. 3. The version will be displayed next to Utility Data.
