What This Package Does
----------------------
This package contains the following small packages for Microsoft

Installation instructions
-------------------------
NOTE:
- If you already installed A-1.14, please uninstall it first before you
  install newer version.
- If Version A-1.17 or later was installed on hard disk drive over Version
  A-1.16a or earlier was installed to, then install the On Screen Display 
  package also.
  From Version A-1.17 or newer, this package does not install the On 
  Screen Display package. Another installation program is supported for the
  On Screen Display.
- If you install a newer version after uninstalling a previous version on 
  Windows 2000, reboot the system after uninstallation.


Installing
 1. Start Windows 95/98/Me/2000. If using Windows 2000, logon with
    administrative privileges.
 2. Extract the drivers to the hard disk drive.
 3. Close all open applications.
 4. Click Start, then click Run.
 5. In the Open field, type C:\DRIVERS\W9X\UTILITY\SETUP.EXE. Click OK to
    start the installation process. If you extracted the files to a
    different location, specify that location instead.
 6. At the Welcome screen, click the Next button.
 7. At the Choose Destination Location window, verify the location is
    where you want the Configuration Utilities installed, and click the 
    next button.
    NOTE: The default destination path and folder are changed from Version
          A-1.14. If you are upgrading from this installed version,
          uninstall it first or change the destination path and folder
          to the same as before.
 8. Leave the Setup Type set to Typical and click the Next button. Only
    advance users should choose Custom to configure the installation.
 9. At the Select Program Folder, leave the default folder information.
    This screen specifies where the Configuration Utility will appear on
    the Start menu. Clicking the Next button will start the installation
    process.
10. At the Setup Complete window, there are two choices to either restart
    the system now or later. The default is to restart the system now.


Determining which version is installed
--------------------------------------
For the different Wizards, to display the version information on the first
screen of the Configuration Utility:
 1. Start the ThinkPad Configuration program. The main screen will be
    displayed.
 2. Click Help, then click About. The About dialog window will be 
    displayed.
 3. The version will be displayed next to Utility Data.
